별동 급식실의 채광을 가리고 있던 기존 교사동을 철거하고 개축하는 교사동은 ㄷ자 형태의 느슨한 마당을 제공한다. 운동장을 향한 남향으로 모든 일반 교실을 평등하게 배치하고, 반대편 중정 마당쪽으로 다양한 형태를 가진 서비스 코어를 배치하여 학습공간과 커뮤니티 공간이 형식적, 공간적 대비를 가진다. 정사각형, 원형, 삼각형 등 수학의 기본도형으로 구성된 건물은 효율적인 기능을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 초등학교 학생들에게 귀엽고 친근한 학교로 다가간다. The existing classroom building, which blocked the natural light of the cafeteria in the separate building, was demolished and a new classroom building was built, providing a loose U-shaped yard. All general classrooms are equally placed facing south toward the playground, and service cores of various shapes are placed toward the courtyard on the opposite side, creating a formal and spatial contrast between the learning space and community space. Buildings made up of basic mathematical shapes such as squares, circles, and triangles not only provide efficient functions, but also make the school a cute and friendly school for elementary school students.
편복도의 ㄴ자 교실에 다양한 모양의 계단실, 화장실, 휴게공간이 달리고 복도 끝단에 돌봄교실과 유치원 영역, 도서관과 음악실 영역, 기존 교사동 체육관으로 연결복도가 있다.
In the L-shaped classroom area facing the single hallway, there are staircases of various shapes, restrooms, and rest areas, and at the end of the hallway, there is a connecting corridor to the care classroom and kindergarten area, the library and music room areas, and the gym in the existing annex building.
누구에게나 익숙한 재료인 붉은 벽돌로 마감하되 창호 주변은 한켜 들어간 스터코로 마감하여 창호 주변의 누수에 대응하면서 동네의 익숙한 건물들의 이미지를 부여한다. 후면 마당으로는 전면과 다르게 노란색 벽돌을 사용함으로서 보다 밝고 활기찬 초등학교의 마당이 된다. 주 진입 현관위 입면에 위치한 ㅍ과 원형 시계는 평창 초등학교의 상징성을 강화한다. It is finished with red brick, a familiar material to everyone, but the area around the windows is finished with a piece of stucco, which responds to water leaks around the windows and gives the image of familiar buildings in the neighborhood. The back yard uses yellow bricks differently from the front, making it a brighter and more vibrant elementary school yard. The ㅍ and circular clock located on the façade above the main entrance strengthen the symbolism of Pyeongchang Elementary School.
