70년이 넘은 흙벽돌벽에 슬레이트 지붕아래 빼곡히 찬 성냥공장의 기계들을 전시하기 위해 단순히 기계만을 전시하는 것보다 공간 자체의 '아우라'를 그대로 전시하여야 한다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 단열된 실내를 최소화하고 최대한 그대로 보존하여 남겨두는 것이 현실적이다. 대지경계선에 바짝 붙은 건물들은 실질적으로 공사가 어려우므로 파빌리온으로 남기고 주요전시공간만 실내공간으로 개조한다. 이용이 잦은 프로그램실들을 기존 건물을 리모델링하여 사용하는 것은 기능적으로도 공간적으로도 모두 충족하지 못하므로 한 곳에 기능적인 건물로 신축하는 것이 합리적이고 현실적이다.  In order to display the machines of a match factory packed under a slate roof with mud brick walls that are over 70 years old, the 'aura' of the space itself should be displayed as is, rather than simply displaying the machines. To do so, it is realistic to minimize the insulated interior and preserve it as much as possible. Buildings close to the site boundary are practically difficult to construct, so they are left as pavilions and only the main exhibition space is converted into an indoor space. Remodeling existing buildings to use frequently used program rooms does not satisfy both functionality and space, so it is reasonable and realistic to construct a new functional building in one location.
