을지로의 변화에 대응하지 못한 채 닫힌 시설로서의 '구 미국문화원' 건물의 파사드 안쪽으로 공공정원 성격의 보행통로를 제안한다. 파사드는 그대로 유지된 채 한 켠 뒤로 물러선 건물의 내부 공간은 전면 유리를 통해 밖의 파사드의 개구부를 바라보게 되는 '과거를 관람'하는 경험을 제공하고, 건물과 분리된 과거의 파사드는 하나의 거대한 예술품으로 남아 도시의 상징이 된다. In response to the change to Eulji-ro, a walking path with the nature of the public garden is proposed inside the facade of the 'former American Cultural Center'. The interior space of the building, which remains intact, offers a "view of the past" experience of looking at the opening of the facade outside through the front glass, and the facade of the past, separated from the building, remains a huge artwork and becomes a symbol of the city.
