침실沈室

'분명히 물속에 빠졌음에도 불구하고 계속 꿈을 꾸는 것 같았다. 감겨진 눈위로 넘실거리는 하얀 빛 조각들이 나를 엄습함을 알아차렸을때 나는 떠오르고 있는 것이 분명하였다. 잠에서 깨어나려고 했지만 무거운 물의 무게가 나를 아래로 잡아당기고 있었다. 심연의 깊은 물속으로 나의 영혼은 끝없이 침전되어 갔다.'

바다는 이곳을 머물다 가는 사람들에게는 일종의 환타지fantasy이다. 공간은 그것을 충족하기 위한 하나의 무대일뿐이다. 코발트 블루의 벽으로 사방이 둘러쌓인, 약간 단이 올려진 침대가 있는 방은 폐쇄된 높은 밀도의 분위기로 여전히 물속에 있는 듯한 환상을 불러일으키지만 그에 반해 한순간의 이벤트를 즐기기 위한 거실공간은 말 그대로 '공간空間'hollowness 으로써 바다와 직설적으로 대면한다. 그로 인해 바다에서 부터 멀어질수록 평면은 밀도가 높아지면서 기능적이 된다.

Sunken room

 

'Definitely, I was falling in the water however I still felt like dreaming ceaselessly. It was obvious that I was rising when I noticed waving fragments of light streaming over my closed eyes. I tried to wake up desperately from the dream, but the weight of the heavy water was pulling me down to the bottom. Into the deep waters of the abyss, my soul was sinking endlessly.'

The sea is a kind of fantasy for the guests who stay here. The tiny bedroom with cobalt blue walls implies a dense volume of water, meanwhile, the living space is a literally hollow volume. The farther away from the sea, the more dense and functional it becomes.
